Today marks the kick-off of the 34th annual Suncoast Boat Show in downtown Sarasota at Marina Jacks! This is one of the largest boat shows on the Gulf and well worth a visit with easy parking, light crowds and plenty of boats and accessories to admire. You can easily find us along the seawall in slips A-17 and A-18 at which we will have our new and innovative Talaria 43 as well as our iconic 37’ Picnic Boat MKIII on display. This is a great opportunity to climb aboard these amazing vessels to see and feel the artistry and innovation inherent to every Hinckley Yacht for yourself. We will be here throughout the weekend, April 15th – 17th, and hope you will stop by and say hello! If you are interested in complimentary tickets to the show, please contact Senior Sales Director, Jennifer Richards, at email@example.com or (239) 300-4995.
It’s opening day at the Palm Beach Boat Show and we couldn’t be more excited to have the BRAND NEW Talaria 34 Runabout on display for the first time!
Modeled on deck after her extremely fun and innovative bigger sister the T38R and built on the same hull as our very popular Talaria 34 Pilothouse, the T34R will no doubt make for a lot of perfect days on the water. The all new T34R offers a versatile entertaining platform with abundant, comfortable seating and a whole lot of new innovation centered around her Hinckley patented self-stowing and electric, yes electric, bimini top.
Take a look at this YouTube link for a peek at our mock up at our corporate facilities in Rhode Island, which does show the top in action. https://youtu.be/kkbNCF1ikVI
With all that said, we could go on and on about our latest and greatest model, but if it has peeked your interest, we encourage you to contact Senior Sales Director, Jennifer Richards, to learn more. Or if you get a wild hair, just head out to the Palm Beach Boat Show to experience the sleek and sporty T34R for yourself, she will be there March 17th – 20th!
This past weekend on historic Boca Grande was positive proof that the beauty and performance of our yachts is only the beginning of the Hinckley ownership experience!
On Friday afternoon, Boca Grande Marina quickly became “Hinckley Heaven” as 16 of our fine yachts ranging from a Talaria 29 Runabout to a Talaria 48 Flybridge filled the slips. The docks were abuzz as Hinckley after Hinckley arrived at port. While owners and their guests checked in and got settled on the island, our Hinckley crew cleaned and dressed the ships, prepping them for the fun weekend ahead!
The weekend Hinckley festivities included a kick-off “Docktail Party,” exciting team scavenger hunt exploring the beautiful Boca Grande waters, Captain’s Dinner at Eagle Grill, and a send-off brunch. Throughout the weekend, it was evident that every Hinckley owner is part of a special community that shares deep connections to both their craft, and the company that built it.
If you couldn’t make it this year, we certainly hope to see you next!
Opening Day of the Yachts Miami Beach Boat Show is well underway! Senior Sales Director, Jennifer Richards, and Broker, Whitney Brackin (along with some gorgeous Hinckleys) are posted up at the northern end of Collins Avenue. If you find yourself in the area, stop by and see the stunning Talaria 43 and timeless Picnic Boat MKIII they have on display. They will be at the show until Sunday, February 14th, and would love to see you!
Despite a little unruly weather, we had a great turnout at our first “Evening On The Docks” of the season! Hamilton Harbor Yacht Club provided the perfect setting for guests to enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, and a bird’s-eye view of our fine yachts. A Talaria 43 and Talaria 34 were on display and many guests braved the elements to climb aboard and experience their brilliant details. If you missed our Naples “Evening On The Docks,” we will be at Sarasota Yacht Club this Thursday, February 4th, from 4:30 – 6:30 PM, be sure to RSVP if you are interested in attending!
HHYC provided the perfect spot for guests to cozy up to a cocktail and view of a T43!
We are excited to welcome Jennifer Udd to our Hinckley Naples sales office as our new Administrative Assistant. Originally from the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Jennifer lived much of her life in Phoenix, AZ before recently relocating to Naples, FL. After those many years in the desert, she is looking forward to getting her sea-legs back supporting our wonderful Hinckley family down here in SW FL.
Jennifer graduated from Santa Clara University with a major in communication and played on the women’s golf team all four years. Prior to joining the Hinckley Company, she gained valuable experience as a Senior Brokerage Coordinator at Cushman & Wakefield and the Social Media Manager for PING Golf. She is going to be a great asset to the Hinckley Naples sales office and we are so excited to have her on our team. If you find yourself in Naples, stop by our 5th Avenue South sales office and say hi to Jennifer or look to meet her at one of our upcoming events soon. All the best, Jennifer
Many of you already know and love Whitney but following is a bit of background for those that have yet to meet this dynamic young woman. Whitney grew up in a small town in Alabama. She graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in Public Relations/Marketing and then enjoyed extensively traveling the country with her family ending up in Naples, FL several years ago. Whitney quickly found her love for life on the water and joined the Hinckley Yachts sales team as the Office Manager several years ago. Whitney quickly took to spearheading our Gulf Coast region’s marketing and sales support efforts and today, her knowledge of Hinckley Yachts and engaging personality make her a wonderful asset as the Broker on our Hinckley Naples sales team.
Things have been very busy around the Hinckley Yachts Naples office lately as we are happily welcoming Spring along with several new members to our wonderful Hinckley Family here on the Gulf Coast. But there is no time to rest as we prepare to head up to the 33rd Annual Suncoast Boat Show in Sarasota next weekend where we will showcase the very popular Talaria 34 as well as the fun-loving Talaria 29 Center Console. We hope you will stop by to say hello and just give us a shout should you need tickets.
We are just returning from our Hinckley Yachts Experience at the Sarasota Yacht Club…the wonderful venue in the picture above at which lots of folks checked out our gorgeous Talaria 29 Runabout and her beautiful big sister, the Talaria 48. A great time was had by all even if the weather was a little less than cooperative.
The 2nd Annual Hinckley Yachts Poker Run was a huge success. Check out all the fun photos from the day!
I wanted to pass along a link to our first video filmed aboard our new Hinckley Talaria 43.
Click on http://youtu.be/6KPBonCDbgg.
This is just a short tour through hull #1 but I think you will find it speaks volumes; particularly around the 50 second mark where you can see the revolutionary new windows in action. I find folks are simply awestruck by the inviting, open layout when they see and feel the Talaria 43 for themselves and of course nothing can quite replace getting aboard for yourself…but this video will definitely you a sense of what you are missing!
Well if you ask our Hinckley Naples office Sales Assistant Extraordinaire Whitney Brackin…she’ll tell you a whole lot easier than a prop boat!
Check out Whitney below with her wide, easy smile as she learns to drive a Picnic Boat for the first time right here in Naples recently. A whole pod of dolphins joined us to watch Whitney perfect her technique, which took practically no time at all!
Boating 101 continued last week when we visited the Newport International Boat Show and signed up for a quick course on typical prop boat operation for the sake of comparison to our Hinckley’s easy operation. As you can see below, Whitney was a very good sport and she did extremely well. But she will tell you that the prop boat was much more difficult to maneuver and learning to drive that prop boat took a lot more concentration than learning to drive the Picnic Boat. Hands down…JetStick II makes boating a lot more fun!
As I said, Whitney is a great sport and a fast learner so don’t be surprised if we are required to address her as Captain Whitney soon!
One of my favorite things is hearing from owners about trips they have taken aboard their Hinckley. On that note, check out the images above and the email below from one of my newer owners about their first big trip aboard their Hinckley Talaria 29 Runabout.
“The trip began in Seabrook, TX and took us all the way down to Corpus Christi, TX. This was our first long trip aboard our T29 PRETTY WOMEN. We took a couple of friends along for the ride. We were off to an early start. We passed under the Galveston Island Causeway and shared the intercoastal waterway with dolphins, ships, tugs, and barges. We passed through two locks and the swing bridge on the intercoastal before arriving in Corpus Christi. The ride home was just as smooth and beautiful.
The most exciting moment was getting hailed over by Corpus Christi Port Police for going in a restricted area. (we didn’t know it was restricted). Had to tie up at a dock that was meant for tugs. they wanted to see all of our ids to make sure we werent’ terrorists. They were super nice and wanted to hear all about the boat. At one point, I was left with the port police while Pretty Woman had to move away from the dock because a tug and barge were coming through and it would have been ugly. The police kidded with (my husband) Mark as they were moving away that they were holding me hostage. Then someone had the bright idea that I should be photograghed being mock handcuffed. But they didn’t want their picture on the internet. We were there about 20 minutes taking care of serious security business but having fun the entire time.
Needless to say, we can’t go anywhere without drawing attention in our beautiful boat. We’ve even gotten pulled over by immigration and drug enforcement just to ask us questions about the boat. They even took turns driving so that they could both get a good look and ask all about her. We were told it is the prettiest boat they’ve ever seen in these parts!
We had a great time on our adventure and are looking forward to planning another. Maybe Louisiana next time!”
Just arrived back from the 19th Annual Keels and Wheels Concours d’ Elegance, held at the Lakewood Yacht Club in Seabrook, Texas where there were many beautiful classic cars and classic boats on display. But rest assured our generously loaned out Hinckley Talaria 29 Runabout PRETTY WOMAN was the belle of the ball and the 1969 Hinckley Bermuda 40 INVICTUS that berthed in front of us drew a lot of attention too. And what a time we had with new owner and incidentally, THE pretty woman, who gave us tours of Clear Lake aboard her PRETTY WOMAN. Truly a fun and worthwhile introduction to the Texas marketplace. Yet another example of our amazing and gracious Hinckley owners but a special and heartfelt thanks to THE pretty woman and her husband. You know how cool you are but it bears repeating!
Nick Voulgaris III, Author of Hinckley Yachts An American Icon, was in our Naples Office for an early release book signing. The weather was a bit dreary but the reception was a success. The book is a beautiful look at the history of The Hinckley Company. The books will be available at the Hinckley Ship Store or online at Hinckleyshipstore.com.
Hinckley Yachts Naples is pleased to host a book signing and reception celebrating the production of Hinckley Yachts An American Icon. The book signing and reception will be held at our Hinckley Yachts Naples Office located at 535 5th Avenue South, Naples, on April the 8th from 5:30pm until 7:30 pm. To RSVP for this event just click the link on the right side of this page. This is a beautiful book showcasing Hinckley’s history.
Hinckley Yachts: An American Icon is scheduled to be published in April 2014.
The History of Hinckley
Forthcoming coffee-table book chronicles 85 years of history at the shipyard.
Rizzoli New York is teasing us with news that a new coffee-table book will be out in April. It’s called Hinckley Yachts: An American Icon and will feature designs, photographs and more from the archives and modern times showcasing the builder’s evolution since it opened its doors in 1928.
The hardcover book will retail for $65. It’s written by Nick Voulgaris III, who restored a Hinckley Bermuda 40 yawl that inspired him to undertake the writing and history project. The foreword is by philanthropist and Hinckley owner David Rockefeller, with contributions from Charles Townsend, CEO of Conde Nast Publications and a Hinckley owner, and Martha Stewart, best known as a TV host and book publisher.
We are very excited to host this event and look forward to seeing you there!
We set off from Naples for the Hinckley Owners’ Rendezvous at the Ocean Reef Club on Key Largo last Thursday. That first leg of the trip was a little rough on the Gulf of Mexico (see video below) but Friday’s trip up the Atlantic coast was beautiful. We had a busy and wonderful weekend filled with over 80 Hinckley family and friends and nearly 20 Hinckley boats on The Reef. Of special note was our group cruise on Saturday so check out the pictures below. Our photographer, Billy Black’s helicopter might have gotten grounded because of President Obama’s visit to The Reef but that didn’t stop us from getting some amazing shots of a whole bunch of Hinckleys in action!
Come see me in Miami at the Yacht and Brokerage Show! This is a wonderful opportunity to see our Hinckley Talaria 34, the iconic Picnic Boat MKIII, and the Hinckley Talaria 48. We are located off ramp 3 on Collins Avenue, right across from the beach. Surprise your Valentine with a Hinckley this year!
Hinckley Yachts Naples hosted our Inaugural Hinckley Yachts Poker Run this past Saturday and I think all involved will agree a second annual one is certainly in order! We shoved off from Hamilton Harbor at noon with sunny skies and you can be sure our parade of beautiful boats garnered a lot of attention as they navigated their way through several stops, gathering playing cards for their poker hands along the way. Captains and crew busily documented the shenanigans from one stop to the next and in the end, there were great poker hands, great prizes, great pictures but most of all great memories. A big thank you to all that participated and see you all next year!
2014 is off to a busy start here at Hinckley Yachts Naples. It is the beginning of boating season and Hinckley Yachts can be seen cruising the beautiful waters of Southwest Florida. Some are out for a sunset cruise and others are out with family and friends. One thing is for sure, it is a fabulous day when you are out on the water aboard a Hinckley Yacht.
Happy Holidays to you and your family from our family here at Hinckley Naples!
It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas here at Hinckley Yachts Naples! We are ready to spread some cheer so if you are in town, the 39th Annual Tree Lighting and Christmas Walk is being held tonight at 5pm on 5th Avenue South and the annual Naples Christmas Parade will be held on December 10th at 6pm. We will have the office open for both events and would love for you to stop by for libations and some holiday cheer. Please come and share in the merriment!
Christening a boat is not only fun but brings good luck to the vessel and those aboard. It is always a treat to witness new owners as they christen their new Hinckley breaking a bottle of bubbly across her bow. However, it isn’t so often I get covered in more of the bubbly than the boat does so this was an amazing moment and I had to share.
In other news, I hope you all had an opportunity to see the TV debut of our Hinckley Talaria 48 Flybridge! She was featured on Travel Channel’s EXTREME Yachting in a fantastic episode that truly showed the beauty and craftsmanship that goes into each one of our yachts. If you missed it, let us know and we just might be able to get you a copy someday soon. If you would like to see one in person we will have a Hinckley Talaria 48 Motoryacht as well as a Hinckley Talaria 34 on show at the Hamilton Harbor Luxury Yacht Show this Saturday, November 23, from 1pm until 5pm. It is invitation only so just click my email below to let me know if you would like to attend and I will be sure to get you on the list.
There are many things I love about my job but nothing compares to seeing the faces of my clients light up as we deliver their new Hinckley.
Lloyd and Ramona Jones stepped aboard their new Hinckley Talaria 34, BELLA, last week.
The excitement on their faces was priceless. Ramona held Lloyd’s hand as she christened BELLA. And then, as every good love story goes, they sailed off into the sun to begin their training.
We also welcome Dick and Connie Goodman to our growing Hinckley family as they took delivery of their new Hinckley Talaria 34, REVONAH, this week.
I didn’t think Dick and Connie could get any more excited than when they saw REVONAH for the first time last month when we all visited her at the Hinckley plant in Maine. But their smiles were indeed a mile wider as they christened her this week and you can tell they are looking forward to making a lot of great memories aboard REVONAH with family and friends.
I couldn’t be more proud to be a part of Hinckley making these wonderful new owners’ dreams come true.
Today is the final day of the Fort Lauderdale Show. There is still time to come see our stunning Hinckley Talaria 48 motor yacht and wildly popular Talaria 34 at our display. Also ask me about our new models the Talaria 43 motor yacht and Bermuda 50 sailing yacht. We are located in front of Bahia Mar, B dock, slips 241 and 243. I look forward to seeing you!
