Have Hinckley, will travel.

One of my favorite things is hearing from owners about trips they have taken aboard their Hinckley. On that note, check out the images above and the email below from one of my newer owners about their first big trip aboard their Hinckley Talaria 29 Runabout.

“The trip began in Seabrook, TX and took us all the way down to Corpus Christi, TX. This was our first long trip aboard our T29 PRETTY WOMEN. We took a couple of friends along for the ride. We were off to an early start. We passed under the Galveston Island Causeway and shared the intercoastal waterway with dolphins, ships, tugs, and barges. We passed through two locks and the swing bridge on the intercoastal before arriving in Corpus Christi. The ride home was just as smooth and beautiful.

The most exciting moment was getting hailed over by Corpus Christi Port Police for going in a restricted area. (we didn’t know it was restricted).   Had to tie up at a dock that was meant for tugs.  they wanted to see all of our ids to make sure we werent’ terrorists.  They were super nice and wanted to hear all about the boat.  At one point, I was left with the port police while Pretty Woman had to move away from the dock because a tug and barge were coming through and it would have been ugly.  The police kidded with (my husband) Mark as they were moving away that they were holding me hostage. Then someone had the bright idea that I should be photograghed being mock handcuffed.  But they didn’t want their picture on the internet.   We were there about 20 minutes taking care of serious security business but having fun the entire time.

Needless to say, we can’t go anywhere without drawing attention in our beautiful boat.  We’ve even gotten pulled over by immigration and drug enforcement just to ask us questions about the boat.  They even took turns driving so that they could both get a good look and ask all about her.  We were told it is the prettiest boat they’ve ever seen in these parts!

We had a great time on our adventure and are looking forward to planning another.  Maybe Louisiana next time!”
